BUILDING A HEALTHY PLATE
1/2 of your plate || Fruits or Veggies
*aim for color: "eat the rainbow"
1/4 of your plate || Whole Grains
*whole wheat, barley, quinoa, oats, brown rice
1/4 of your plate || Protein
*Fish, poultry, beans, and nuts
Eat red meats in moderation, avoid processed meats if possible
Moderation || Healthy Plant Oils
*avocado, olive, soy, sunflower, peanut, and others!
Avoid partially hydrogenated oils, which contain unhealthy trans fats.
In Abundance || Water
Drink your water! Aim for 6-8 cups a day, more if possible.
Drink your coffee or tea while being mindful of the caffeine contents.
Keep the sugary drinks to a minimum.
Stay Active
Remember to move your body.
Stretch, take a walk, or hit the gym!
